Where have we been?

Camp Texas is alive and well and will be checking in from time to time.
Please leave your comments, we want to hear from you.

The Texas A&M football program has a new head coach.
Jimbo Fisher has arrived and is making his mark.
The Aggies will be a force to be reckoned with as Jimbo suits Texas A&M.

New look on camptexas.com

Morning!
The camp site has a new look http://www.camptexas.com/image-gallery.html  The mats reflect the way a photograph looks when you buy one and it is delivered to your door. Go see! The trees are particularly haunting. They might grace the walls at home or office, a peaceful sunset for a bedroom, endless possibilities.  Why have the same old print month after month in the office...? Arrange a changing photograph to keep clients interested in your business.
Thanks for dropping by.

A little Texas history

Lots going on at the camp site...new photos, new format, more beauty than ever! Go see and enjoy. Let us know what you think.

29 April 1856 -- Backed by the US military, a shipment of 32 camels arrived at the port of Indianola. The resulting Texas Camel Experiment used the animals to transport supplies over the "Great American Desert."

4 October 1876 -- The opening of the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas marked the state's first venture into public higher education. Tuition totaled $10 per semester.

15 September 1883 -- The University of Texas opened its doors in Austin for its inaugural session. First courses were offered in the Academic Department and a Law Department.

A few things you may or may not know. www.camptexas.com wants to remind all of us where we live and what came before. Photography stops time in its tracks and becomes a visual history; it portrays a moment in time which will never come again.

News of sorts!

We no longer take the daily newspaper. It is strange to wake without thoughts of the paper and a cup of coffee. The coffee is still with me. I really miss the paper. It is so much fun to open the paper and read all the little tidbits available about whatever there is to talk about. Then there is the food section. Karen Haram is the editor of the food section and she has a great ability to find and talk about making a wonderful dish or a wonderful dinner. I enjoy her culinary abilities, I have none.

The sports page is great too. The San Antonio Spurs are always featured when in season. Even when they are not, they have a little string of words about them. The Cowboys have been in town for the past week for their training camp in the Alamodome. It gives the natives opportunities to get acquainted with the team and garner devoted fans. Jerry Jones was on tap along with this son. Jerry was wearing his walking shorts and sun glasses.

Morning Ya'll

I realize the spelling of Ya'll is up for grabs, but this is how I spell it. If you are so inclined, go to www.papergarden.com and review the illustrations from my children's book, A Land of Multipliers. The book was written in honor of the late Nicole Johnson. She is my granddaughter, not was, and I love her very much. She ran from numbers and math. (So did I) Anyway, I am looking for an agent and publisher. Nicole is a native Texan, born in Methodist Hospital in San Antonio,Texas.
